March 2023
President's LetterEntering March as Women’s History Month, I am reminded of all the strong women I have the privilege to be acquainted with, not just from my family, but the many friends I have made through United Women in Faith and another United Methodist organization I am a member of nationally. Some of these women have received the calling to serve as deaconesses. Some as officers in the different organizations they are members of, and some are strong examples of Christianity in their families, communities, and churches. God has truly equipped us all with the abilities to serve powerfully with the help of His Holy Spirit dwelling within us and working through us to further His kingdom on earth.

We had the wonderful opportunity to join in-person for the first time since 2020 at St. Andrew’s last month for our Learning Event. The hospitality of the UWFaith of St. Andrews was enjoyed immensely. We had a wonderful time getting reacquainted and learning more in depth about the offices of Program Resources, Nominations and Treasurer. We truly felt the Holy Spirit among us as we shared in worship, broke “bread” (coffee cake and other wonderful treats) and fellowshipped together.
We will soon join in person again at Hinsdale UMC for our Day of Spiritual Renewal on April 15. The Retired Rev. Greta Schumm McDonald will be our facilitator. Her personality and preaching style really put people in a sense of peace and spirituality. Please mark your calendars and register for this event. We are so excited to see everyone again and fellowship together as we renew our spirits and then go out into the world in service to THE ONE to whom we all belong.
May God bless you all until we join in our next in-person event together. I look forward to seeing you all and hearing of how you have been serving our Lord through the many avenues of ministry made available to us both through UWFaith and in our local churches. Stay strong in the Lord and in His service.

Women's Herstory Month Prayer
Compassionate Creator, we give special thanks during this Women’s History Month for all women. Open our hearts and our awareness to the ways your Holy Spirit has been at work through the lives of women throughout all of history. We pray this month for women of every vocation. May they experience your nearness, guidance and love. God of everlasting love, equip us for the building of a world where all women are supported, valued, celebrated and welcomed. Amen.
